London Riverside Treasure Hunt

WELCOME TO THE RIVERSIDE TREASURE HUNT

Imagine atmospheric old alleys that snake their way between even older buildings and you have the measure of this truly memorable riverside Treasure Hunt.

You begin at Monument and head off into a superb series of riverside passageways. The cryptic clues that you follow will ensure that you sty very close to the banks of the Thames. We can honestly say that when we were pacing out this Treasure Hunt we were astonished at some of the places I discovered. From pieces of street furniture that had a decidedly nautical theme to mysterious pathways that seem to lead nowhere but actually open up whole new sections of London to you. And that's from a grou0p of people that have been leading guided tours around this area for the best part of 25 years!

The cryptic clues that you will need to solve will get you away from the busy main roads of London and will spirit you back to a bygone age remnants of which lie marooned along the banks of the River Thames.

In the course of the Riverside Quest you will go over the Millennium Bridge and into the districts of Bankside and Southwark. Here the Treasure Hunt will take on the distinct flavour of the Bard as you go through the streets that Shakespeare knew well and where his immortal words were first spoken. Inevitably we had to pepper the clues with a few Shakespearean references.

You will also have a series of observation questions that you must find the solutions to. These are items that you will pass as you go round. They might be names or dates on statues, plaques on stairs that lead down to the river or even memorials to Shakespeare himself.

Then there will be the photo quest round whereby you are given a sequence of photos of places you will pass, but all taken from unusual or even bizarre angles. The question you must ask is will you be able to spot the items or articles as you go round?

But all in all this is a delightful stroll around the banks of the Thames which offers superb views of places like St Paul's Cathedral and the Globe Playhouse, but which will also offer the opportunity to venture into some of the more unusual and hidden sections of secret London.
